Nourishing your stressed out brain

16 Jan

Learn how to deal with stress for high cognitive function and happy mood

Did you know that is estimated that stress is involved as a causal factor in more than 80 % of all non-infectious diseases?

European Agency for safety and health at work reported in 2014 that Romania is the European champion regarding work related stress and that diseases related to stress start in Romania at around 30 years old.

Knowing how to deal with and minimize stress these days is in fact a matter of survival.

Society and business losses due to stress related illnesses are immense. Personal losses due to stress range from job loss, acute to degenerative diseases like gastro-intestinal diseases, cardiovascular, diabetes, anxiety and depression, insomnia, hormonal issues, impotence, loss of memory and focus, loss of cognitive function and early dementia, and even cancers and life loss.

We are all stressed to different degrees. The good news is that if we learn how to do it, we can deal with most of the stress without long term effects. In some cases we can even reverse the damage that already occurred.

In this seminar you will learn a few practical tools for how to deal with stress.

We will discuss about:

  • What is stress and types of stress
  • Causes of stress
  • Symptoms  and mechanism of stress
  • The cortisol connection with disease and specific  with lower cognitive function and brain damage
  • How to alleviate stress and support your brain:
    • Key nutrition support: diet and supplementation
    • Life style changes
    • Exercise for stress management
    • Mind and spiritual practices for preventing & relieving stress

This seminar is an introduction of a course that will be scheduled for August 2020. More details to follow in due time.

Your host: Sofia Pistrila,

MSc, CNP, Certified Holistic Nutritionist (Canada)

I am a Certified Nutritionist Practitioner and an honours graduate of the Institute of Holistic Nutrition, Toronto, Canada. For the past 10 years have been an avid learner and had the fortune of having amazing mentors while studying numerous functional medical courses.

For the past 12 years I have been practicing in private clinical setting. For the past 10 years as a faculty member of The Institute on Holistic Nutrition have been teaching and mentoring over 2,500 students and future nutritionists. I am currently teaching the Advanced Nutritional Symptomatology course.

In my quest to help people to attain their true balance of mind, body and spirit, I incorporate in my practice several other modalities like Energy Medicine, Reiki, Reflexology and Pilates. I am also using energetic testing with an EAV equipment.

My working experience started in Romania after graduating with a Masters degree in Science from “Traian Vuia” University, Romania and continued in Canada shortly after. My 18 years experience of the industrial and corporate world gave me the understanding of the importance of harmony between work and personal time in one’s life. My own experience with debilitating health problems resulting from working in a high stress environment ignited my interest in holistic healing. What started as a personal necessity, ended up being a passion to help others.

In my practice my main focus is to educate people about the negative effects of stress and ways to deal with it. Through customized diet, life style changes and intervention at energetic level, I help my clients to blossom to their full potential.

I share my own healing journey and knowledge with clients and the public through one-to-one consultations, courses, small group seminars, workshops, community centers presentations and community newspapers.

I am looking forward to meet you all on January 16th,

Sofia
